Jean-Dominique Merchet
Jean-Dominique Merchet (born in Besançon, 26 October 1959) is a French journalist working for ''Marianne''. He specialises in military topics.
== Biography ==
Merchet joined ''Libération'' in the 90s, where he works on Defence topics. Since July 2007, he has publish a professional blog, ''(Secret Défense )''. He left ''Libération'' after the summer of 2010 and joined ''Marianne''.
He is an auditor at the Institut des hautes études de défense nationale (49th session).
Merchet notably authored a biography of Caroline Aigle, the first French female fighter pilote, and ''Mourir pour l'Afghanistan'', a book on the Afghanistan War.
